The Thunderkatz defeated the Shot Callers 25-23 in this classic first round matchup. The Thunderkatz were led by quarterback Joshua who threw 3 touchdown passes to (Mekhi 2 & Elvis 1). Reianna played outstanding defense for the Thunderkatz. Terell from the Shot Callers also threw 3 touchdown passes to Tori & Miguel 2. Marilyn/Shot Callers, had several receptions as well. This game was tied at the end of regulation
21-21. In the first overtime session, both teams had 3 opportunites to convert 2 point conversions from the 10 yard line. Each team scored once: Mekhi/Thunderkatz & Miguel/Shot Callers. In the second overtime session, Elvis caught the game winning 2 point conversion for the Thunderkatz. Both teams played extremely well despite cold weather conditions. The Thunderkatz improve to 7-1 and advance to play the Seminoles in round 2, tomorrow.

On another cold day at Wingate park we had another classic football game. The Seminoles defeated the Thunderkatz 28-21, in sudden death overtime. The Thunderkatz played extremely well and led 21-14 late in the game. For the Seminoles: Kenrick threw 3 Touchdown passes to: Jobari (2), & Peter. In overtime, Kenrick had a long run for the game winning Touchdown. Joshua threw 3 Touchdown passes for the Thunderkatz to: Vanessa, Mekhi, & Reianna. Congratulations to both teams for playing an excellent game that was very exciting to watch. The Seminoles advance to HSPS Bowl I and will play the winner of Fridays game between the Lions and the Cholos. Stay tuned.......

In another great game, The Cholos defeated the Lions 28-21. Kenrick threw a Touchdown pass to Zeph, and also ran for two Touchdowns. Kenrick also intercepted a ball and returned it for a touchdown. For the Lions, Andrew threw two touchdown passes, both to Yveila. Andrew also ran one in for a touchdown. Both teams showed a lot of heart and left everything on the field. The HSPS Bowl is set for Monday, November 24th (weather permitting). The rain date is Tuesday, November 25th. Both teams are undefeated with 7 wins, 0 losses, and 1 tie. Staff and students are invited to attend. In the Battle of the Blocks, all three playoff games have been decided by a touchdown, or less. Kenrick is the captain and quarterback for both the Cholos(E Block) and the Seminoles (A Block). He will quarterback for both teams in the HSPS Bowl. Who will be crowned the best team @ The High School for Public Service?

The Cholos defeated the Seminoles 35-28 in the HSPS Super Bowl. It was another classic game. For the Cholos, Kenrick ran for 2 Touchdowns and Zeph ran for 1. Zeph also caught 2 Td passes. Dennis had a big interception for the Cholos. For the Seminoles, Jobari caught 2 Td passes and Peter caught 1. Kenrick ran for a touchdown (Seminoles). Kenrick who played quarterback for both teams threw a total of 5 touchdown passes and ran for 3. Kenrick earns the MVP award. The Cholos improved to 8-0-1 and are crowned the best team @ HSPS. Congrats to both teams for playing extremely well and displaying outstanding sportsmanship. We had a large crowd on hand and Brianna was stunning with her performance of the Star Spangled Banner. Roberto did a great job officiating and Wildon was outstanding announcing the live action. Thank you to everyone involved.
